Australia expected to earn semi-final berth this Friday
Australia plays Samoa in a rare Rugby League match in Darwin on Friday night. The Kangaroos have cruised through the early stages of the World Cup as expected. While for Samoa, they’ll be challenged against Australia and haven’t looked at their best so far.
Australia kicked off the World Cup with an 18-4 victory over England. They then thrashed minows France and Lebanon in the group stages. So they’ve scored 104 total points and conceded just 10 points.

Samoa started the World Cup with a 38-8 loss to the Kiwis. Then in a fierce battle against Tonga, they lost again 32-18. In their last match, they drew with Scotland which still earned a quarter-final spot.

Australia boasts the best combination in the World Cup with the Melbourne Storm trio of Smith, Slater and Cronk leading the way. For Samoa, the forward pack led by Paulo and Papalii will need to lead the way if they want to get near Australia. But in the end, the Kangaroos are cruising at the moment and will comfortably beat Samoa.
