The Melbourne Renegades have arguably their best squad in Big Bash history and they’re poised for a finals position. They just missed the finals last year and will be confident of making it this season.
Key Batsman – Brad Hodge
For just 81K, you can pickup Hodge and get guaranteed runs. He’s arguably been the best Big Bash batsman in history and I’m expecting another great season by Hodgey.
Key Bowler – Kane Richardson
With Pattison out injured and Siddle at the Strikers, Richardson is the key bowler for the Renegades. He performed well for Australia in the ODI series in September, picking u 10 wickets in 3 games, so his confidence should be high. His T20 record is solid with 63 wickets in 58 matches and his strike rate is under 20.
Young Star – Jack Wildermuth
Wildermuth has breakout potential written all over him. He can bat in the top six and can provide 4 handy overs per game. He’s priced well at 62k, it just depends on the overseas players and if he can fit in the lineup.
International Players – Dwayne Bravo/Kieron Pollard
The Renegades have picked up two of the best West Indian T20 players in Bravo and Pollard. Bravo’s Big Bash was cut short last season with a terrible injury. But he’s back this season and I’m expecting big things. Pollard has switched from the Strikers and gives the Renegades another great all-round option.
Player to watch – Cameron White
For just $53k, Cameron White has the potential to be one of the best cheap pickups of the tournament. It depends on the Renegades batting lineup, but he should get opportunities around 4-6 during the Big Bash.
Cheap Fantasy option – Tim Ludeman
With Wade out of the picture, Ludeman is the main keeper at the Renegades and for just 46k, he’s great value. He’ll play every game and will provide late order hitting for the Renegades.
